Class Description: In this class you will be making the Mega Dream Bag which involves installing 1 zipper. See Pre-work required at bottom of this sheet.
Supply List
- Mega Dream Bag patten (purchase before class – There is prework involved, cutting out fabric and fusing the interfacing on.
- See pattern for fabric requirements (including interfacing)
- General sewing supplies
- Cut n’ Press or wool mat (small ironing surface)
- Water soluble pen, or chalk pen that will show on outside top pieces and lining pieces
- Polyester thread (stronger than cotton, best for bags) that matches the handles, exterior and lining.
- Rotary cutter – a new sharp blade is helpful.
- Pins and clover clips
- Small iron
- Pressing cloth
- Blue tape to mark ½ seam allowance on sewing machine
- Small Scissors.
- Medium size cutting mat.
- Sewing machine with bobbins and knowledge of using a zipper foot.
- Seam ripper, seam gauge (optional)
- Ruler (medium size)
- Point turner (optional)
1/8-inch basting tape for zipper placement. (optional but very helpful) Available at Coco's Prescott Quilt Works
Fabric
- Exterior fabric, see pattern.
- Lining fabric, see pattern.
- Pellon SF 101
- Fusible fleece (1/2 yard)
- 1 Zippers (18”) (see pattern) or ½ yard zip by the yard and 1 pull.
Pre- class instructions
- Cut all fabric and interfacings. Label each piece and attach to cut pieces.
- Fuse interfacing to lining, pockets and straps.
- Cut Zipper tab 2- 3/4” x 4” instead of the size stated in pattern.
- Bring your personalized label or buy some here.
We will be taking a 30 min lunch break. There is a fridge and microwave available if you want to bring lunch or quick and easy take-out nearby!
